I want to create a candy buffet for a party but I am unsure what to do. How much candy and what types of candy should I order?

You want your candy buffet to stand out. A beautiful candy buffet has height, texture and most importantly decor. If you have a specific theme, you can also incorporate your theme with the buffet. Bear in mind that coordinated candy colors look more effective than a random mismatch of different types of candy.

Having bags or boxes will allow for guests to take the candy home or back to their table during the party They also add a special touch to the table. Add labels and/or tags to each jar of candy. Each label and/or tag can have a special message. Also, adding the name of each candy on label can let guests know what they are eating, will prevent them from wasting and of course prevent them from eating something they may be allergic to. Don’t forget to have something to select candy with – i.e. scoops or tongs. Not only for sanitary reasons but for the guests to be able to easily get their candy in the bags or boxes. Put your table out in the open! If the thing's stuck in the back corner, guests won't be able to notice it as quickly.

Order enough candy so the buffet is full and each guest gets a share. About 7 to 10 different types of candy is a good variety and around 1/2 pound of candy per guest should be enough to suffice. Too many candies is not a problem but too few will be! Extra candy can be taken home by the guests as a fun and memorable take-home sweet memento. For an event with 100 guest you should plan to have round 50-55 pounds of candy.

What is the shelf life of candy?

The shelf life of candy varies based upon the type of candy and its ingredients. We constantly inspect our inventory to ensure that we are always offering you the freshest candy of the highest quality.

All candy will have a shelf life of at least 1-2 months when stored properly.

For various types of candy, below are some general guidelines:

Altoid Mints: 24 Months.

Bubble Gum (Bubble Yum, Bubblicious): 2 Months.

Candy Bars: Up To One (1) Month

Candy Corn: 2 Months.

Caramel: 12 Months.

Chocolate (Dark): 2 Months.

Chocolate (Milk & White): 2 Months.

Gum: 2 Months.

Gumballs: 2 Months.

Gummy's Candy: 12 Months.

Hard Candy: 12 Months.

Jelly Beans: 6 Months.

Jordan Almonds: 2 Months.

Licorice: 2 Months.

Lollipops: 12 Months.

M&M's Chocolate Candies: 6 Months.

Novelty Candy: 12 Months.

Twizzlers: 12 Months.

Wrapped Bulk Candy: 12 Months

Heat sensitive candy such as chocolate, gummies and lollipops will melt, disfigure or can become discolored in hot temperatures. Please see the shipping parameters for heat sensitive candy here.

Do you have Kosher candy?

Yes, we have a large selection of Kosher Candy. You can see our complete selection of Kosher Candy listed under Candy Type or by clicking here. Food products that are designated as kosher must meet the rules and standard of Jewish Dietary Law. A Kosher symbol indicates a Kosher product. The type of Kosher symbol also verifies whether the product was or was not made on equipment that is also used for making dairy products. Such products may also be referred to as Pareve, Parev, or Parve.  Vegetarians and vegans find this label very useful, but should note that this does not guarantee that the product is free of eggs or honey, so check the label. Parve is a Hebrew term (pareve is the Yiddish term) that describes food without any meat or dairy ingredients. Jewish dietary laws considers pareve food to be neutral; Pareve food can be eaten with both meat and milk dishes. Please reference the additional information section for the specific Kosher certification type.

Is it possible to get ingredient/ food allergy information before ordering?

While we understand the need, we are unable to offer a complete ingredient/food allergy list for each item. This information comes directly from the manufacturer-if this information is available, we specify it in the additional information section of the product pages. Because on occasion, the list of ingredients can change, we strongly encourage you to check the ingredient label on the package each time before you make a purchase, which is recommended by Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN).

Can I get a sample of a candy so I can try it before I buy it?

We do not offer samples.


Do you have a catalog you can mail?

We have so many different candy offerings, many of which are featured on this website, that there are too many products to put into a catalog. We have made upgrades to our site in order to make it easier to navigate by Color, Type, Theme, Flavor, Special Occasion and even Holiday candy. However, if you are looking for a specific item and do not find it, simply give us a call at 908-687-5800.

Do you offer wholesale prices for businesses?

Yes, simply click on Create a New Account, fill out the simple form and follow the directions given to request a business account. Please let us know if you belong to a qualifying association such as a teacher's union, PTA, PCA or PFA when applying for an account.

Do you take orders over the phone?

Candy Central is available for phone orders Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm EST. You can reach us at 908-687-5800. Please let us know if you belong to a qualifying association such as PCA or PFA when placing a phone order.

Do you take purchase orders?

We only accept purchase orders from business accounts who qualify for credit*. If you would like to open a business account simply click here to Create an Account, fill out the form and follow the instructions given. We can have your account activated in a very short period of time.

How do I fill out an application for a job?

We currently do not have job openings, but you may submit your resume to info@candycentral.com for potential future consideration.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping charges vary depending upon your location in the United States, the size/weight of the order and the shipping service that you select. For the most part, Candy Central will ship your package via FedEx unless you are a wholesale account.

How many days will it take for my order to reach me?

Orders are shipped within 2 business days. An order must be received by 12pm EST in order to be considered a "business day". The shipping times are estimates and are not guaranteed. If you choose a guaranteed method of shipping such as 2nd day, please note that the delivery time will be from the actual time that the package is picked up by FedEx from our warehouse. If you do not receive your package on the guaranteed day, you will receive a full refund on your shipping costs. There are no weekend or holiday deliveries, therefore if you place your order on a Thursday for 2nd day delivery, you order will not ship until the following Monday. I need to order chocolates and other heat sensitive candy and it is summer-can I still order?

Candy Central Customers:  All of our orders are shipped within 2 days via FedEx. If an order contains “heat sensitive” items such as chocolate or gummy candy, it will be packed in an insulated case with cold gel packs. These gel packs last up to three days. Therefore, if your delivery normally takes 3-4 days, it is recommended to upgrade your shipping to 3 Day Select. We will not ship an order where your delivery falls over a weekend, a holiday or if it will exceed the three day window. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS ON MELTED ITEMS. Wholesale Customers/Businesses:  If an order contains "'heat sensitive" items such as chocolate or gummy candy, there is a minimum order required as it must ship via refrigerated truck, free freight. Click here to view the Heat Sensitive Shipping Map.

You may combine orders to meet the minimum if necessary.  We cannot make exceptions to this requirement.  THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS ON MELTED ITEMS.

Does Candy Central ship to P.O. Box addresses? 

No, we do not ship to a P.O. Box. Please be sure to provide an actual street address for delivery.

Does Candy Central ship to countries outside of the United States?

At this time we only accept orders placed within the continental U.S. However, if you would like to purchase products from us and you are not in the continental U.S., please call us at 908-687-5800.

I am not home during the day to accept deliveries-can I ship my order to another address?

Yes, you can ship to a different address than your bill to address. Please just be sure that your bill to address and ship to addresses are entered correctly or it may delay the processing of your order.


Where do I include delivery instructions for FedEx?

At times we get requests to make a delivery during a certain time, leave the package by the side door, leave the package with a neighbor, etc. Right now, we aren't able to pass on your instructions on to FedEx.

Can I pick up my candy order at your warehouse?

No. Unfortunately we do not have a storefront or means for candy orders to be picked up at our facility at this time.

What is the minimum order amount?

There is a minimum order required for wholesale customers/businesses. There is no minimum order required for non wholesale customers/businesses.

Why do you want my telephone number?

We need your contact information in the event that there is a question on an order you have placed with candycentral.com

Why do you want my email address?

We ask for your email in order to be able to contact you with any questions we have on an order. Also, every month we will send out candy news and info as well as online promo codes.

Does Candy Central keep my information private and secure?

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover card, Paypal and purchase orders for business customers who have a qualifying account.

Is there tax on candy?

Yes, right now if you are in the state of New Jersey and do not have a business account with a Certificate of Resale on file, most candy items are taxable. If you have questions on which items are taxable, please feel free to give us a call at 908-687-5800.

I've absolutely got to have my candy next week. What do I do?

When you upgrade your shipping, your order takes priority. Orders sent "Next Day Air" or "2nd Day Air", will ship in 2 business days or less. So, when placing your order, add a couple of days, then pick your shipping accordingly.

I noticed that you have a "Promo Code" area on your order form. How do I get a promo code?

I received the wrong candy. I'd like exchange my candy. What now?

Our goal at Candy Central is to see that our customers are completely satisfied with their purchase. Unfortunately, due to health laws and FDA regulations, we cannot accept returns of food products. If your order was filled incorrectly or it is received damaged, we will send you the correct items at our expense.

I forgot my password, how do I reset it?

If you have forgotten your password and are not able to log in, simply click the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page. You will be prompted to enter your e-mail address, and shortly thereafter you should receive an e-mail with a new password. After logging in, you can change your password.
