It’s Dubble Bubble!

It’s funny, how the simplest, most concise gathering of words occasionally best describes what I, and many others, feel about a certain thing-in this case, a candy. To prove this point, I found a review from Amazon on Dubble Bubble, a delightful candy produced by American’s Originial, which states:

“Lots of gum, good price.”

See what I mean?

This simple phrase sums up the good ol’ Dubble Bubble gum perfectly, although “I love you” works, as well. These trophies of delicious goodness often come in huge packages, and each individual piece is determined to last as long as you’d like. They’re a bit less than a half an inch in height, and again, just falling short of the two inch mark in length. Good, solid proportions for bubble gum, and they rightfully give off the impression of both lasting long and tasting good.

The taste isn’t exactly unique any longer, what with the plethora of bubble gum flavor candies out there these days, but it certainly holds up to society’s usual standards. As gums go, these last fairly long, with the initial blast of flavor enduring for about five minutes, before giving way to a more subtle but similar taste which stick around for a while. The greatest thing about it, though, is the fact that it leaves no foul aftertaste following a good time spent on chewing. This area is where many gums fail, I feel, so it’s quite fortunate Dubble Bubble doesn’t fail in this department.

Dubble Bubbles are also widely renowned for their exceptional bubble-making abilities. Facial cleaning devices  for gum-bubbles-gone-wrong sold separately.

Hershey’s Take 5

I’ve actually never tried a Take 5 bar until now. Most of our local stores around here don’t sell them and I have no idea why. These bars are packed with every ingredient you can think of! Pretzels, caramel, peanut butter, peanuts… All wrapped in the delicious, silky smooth milk chocolate coat.
It might sound like a bit much. It’s true that after a few bites, you’re kinda full already – but then again, who would mind replacing their fruits and veggies with one of these? It’s definitely worth it in my opinion. One Take 5 will settle your score between recess, hershey’s chocolate, AND nuttier butters. It’s that easy! No more contemplating which candy you want, which one your in the mood for- this way you can have it all at once.
And to top it off, this bar has just the same amount of calories as any other candy bar out there. So don’t worry, breathe, relax, and Take 5!

Milky Way

Rich Chocolate | Creamy Caramel | Smooth nougat
My most favorite ingredient in the whole world, hands down, is caramel.
There’s been more than a few times that I’ve snuck a spoon or two while making my usual caramel iced-latte. The only possible way for me to enjoy caramel more is to mix in some chocolate, which is why Milk Ways happen to be quite numerous in my snack shelf.
I realize its not exactly healthy to have too much, but I do need one dose of the stuff at least twice a week. Here’s a quick how-to for consumption of this delicious candy:
Step one: Break it in half and let the delicious liquid caramel get you very sticky.
Step two: Devour it. Just kidding – you’ll probably want to savor every bite. If you love caramel and chocolate, this bar will be veritably bursting in your mouth. You’ll be hooked on the first taste. It’s the perfect balance, and if you’re exceptionally daring you’ll try the Simply Caramel Milky Way (the name says it all, it’s simply caramel galore).
For those of you who don’t appreciate overly sweet candies, this bar might be a bit much. It definitely leaves a strong mark. And for anyone who has suddenly felt a surge of cravings for a Milky Way, why not buy a whole bulk? You know you’re going to want more.

Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds

Good news for almond lovers and almond strangers alike-these Cocoa Roast Almonds are excellent! The almonds, usually half and inch to an inch across, taste fantastic, especially with that small bit of cocoa added to each individual piece. That subtle addition will certainly keep you hungering for more.

For those concerned about their capability to morph into the fearsome devouring beast of legend at the sight of almonds, you’ll be gratified to know that these are often hailed for their lack of unhealthy ingredients. Nonetheless, as a friendly reminder-all things in moderation, even delicious treats such as these.

In addition, those with allergies should be aware of the warning on the bag, which states that this snack was processed on equipment that also processes other tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, milk and sesame seeds (and may even contain any of these).

Peter Paul – Almond Joy

Almond Joy King Size

Ah, I knew it would one day come down to this. It was unavoidable, really.
I suppose it’s just another road I was destined to take from the minute I began my existence.
I don’t typically like coconut. Something about its taste really just gets me down and depressed, and inevitably leads to a late-night pondering on the meaning of life. However, this excellent, classic chocolate-coconut-almond bar is a lone light in the darkness.

Almond Joys (or Almond Jᴐys, if you prefer a more accurate text-representation of the wrapper), now manufactured by Hershey, have been around for a long time, emerging in the early post-WWII era, and it’s become quite popular for very justified reasons. This particular pack comes equipped with two small bars, each roughly two inches across, slid into a tray to prevent them from damage. The first sense it’ll leave a lasting impression on is smell; having never actually smelled a coconut before, I can only conclude that this sweet (but not terribly powerful) odor is its herald. The coconut filling is surrounded by milk chocolate and topped by two almonds which protrude from the roof of the bar.
The chocolate is exceptionally tasty. It’s a soft, creamy, and edible version of bliss. The coconut is as you would expect-sweet and with a noticeable, almost chewy texture to it. Finally, the tasty almonds will surely appeal to anyone who loves the stuff, and is recommended to anyone who normally doesn’t.
Overall, this is definitely a great candy even for those who usually prefer to stray away from coconut flavors. That said, unless you’re in on some sort of rally to inform the world about the dangers of falling coconuts (estimated to cause about ten times the amount of deaths from shark attacks!), this bar should certainly go on your “to-try” list.

Twizzlers Twists – Strawberry

Twizzlers Strawberry (36 Ct)

Twizzlers is a widely known locarice product, and as such it’s sparked some serious disagreements over its taste. It’s shocking to see how widely people’s opinions of this sweet ranges. In fact, for all you know, your best friend may not enjoy its flavor and you might not even know…

Horror scenes aside, this particular licorice, in this strawberry flavor, has probably been tried by everyone. These twists come at roughly six inches long per piece, and without the typical extreme thinness that often accompanies such large sweets. They are, however, hollow but don’t let that scare you off-there’s still plenty of licorice in a single piece. In fact, there’s an oddly popular practice among our youths to use these as edible straws, though I’m not exactly sure I would recommend this as a new standard for straws.

The taste itself would make any red-licorice lover content. It tastes as any licorice would, with an artificially added strawberry flavor, resulting in a mildly sweet and chewy candy that, as I not-so-subtly hinted at before, you’re bound to love or hate. If it’s the former, these make for a great snack which I highly recommend to those who have pleasant past experiences with licorice,  or to those who have never tried the stuff before.

Laffy Taffy – Banana

Banana Laffy Taffys

Ever since my childhood, I’ve assumed that Banana Laffy Taffy’s were off limits. Don’t get me wrong, me and my friends all enjoyed Laffy Taffy in general, but the banana ones never seemed quite as appealing as its fellow flavors.

Recently, however, I stumbled upon a facebook page titled “Banana Laffy Taffy’s”. I was somewhat shocked to witness such a fan page, so I checked it out. What I found was astounding; a whole bunch of people posting on the page about how they thought they were the only ones who loved the bananas best. There were even 1,570 likes! While there were the few haters claiming it was the worst flavor, the majority of the people were raving about how they were addicted to these candies.

Suddenly, I felt like I had never given them a chance. I know we’re just talking about sweets here, but I’m the ultimate candy lover – how can I not treat them all fairly? So I opened up the little yellow guy and hesitantly took a bite only to taste… a splendor of delicious banana and sugar! Not too sweet, not too flavorful – it was simply the best flavor of Laffy Taffy I’ve ever tasted! I suppose the quote “don’t judge a book by its cover” would be apt here, especially when there’s a form of peer pressure involved. Don’t let the nay-Sayers keep you from tasting this delicious candy.

Dum Dum Pops 300

Dum Dum Pop Gusset Bag (300 Ct)

America’s Favorite Giveaway Pop for more then 85 years!
I’ve tried a lot of different kinds of lollipops before – tootsie pops, gum pops, whirly pops – but nothing seems quite as satisfying as good old Dum-Dums.  First of all – there’s a huge flavor variety, with some of the most unique flavors I’ve ever seen. And even though they’re pretty small, I like having the option of having two or three different flavors before feeling full.
They’re also great as treats. My campers go crazy over these pops – and they have so much fun with picking which ones they want. My personal favorite is the Mystery pop. You never know what you’re going to find in the small question mark wrapper. Some people are scared of getting the bad flavors – but to me it’s all part of the experience. I mean, you’re not a true Dum-Dum fan until you’ve tried every single one.

One pack of these and you’ll be hooked. Blue raspberry, Rootbeer, Cream soda, Cherry, Strawberry, Watermelon, Butterscotch, Grape, Sour apple, Cotton Candy, Bubblegum, Pink Lemonade, Cherry cola, Coconut, Mango, Tangerine, and oh-so-many-more. Get one and see for yourself.

Candy Gumballs

These bright pink gumballs aren’t anything amazing, but they do succeed in what gum should accomplish; that is, giving you something to chew that retains its flavor for at least a few minutes.

Roughly an inch in diameter, this particular gumball gives you a good amount of gum in one piece, enough even to give your jaw that oddly satisfying ache after an extended period of time spent chewing, which never seems to happen with many products from other gum brands. The flavor, which is similar to your typical bubble-gum flavor (thankfully not as disgustingly sweet as the norm) survives for a good ten to twenty minutes, but then dissipates into a memory of that former taste.

Cadbury Caramello Bar

Cadbury Caramello Bar
Caramello King Size

Personally, I’ve never been a real fan of caramel, but this four-piece milk chocolate bar really manages to balance out the chocolate and liquid caramel that fills its innards. A single bite of this delicious candy will fill your mouth with everything you were likely expecting when you first encountered it.

The chocolate has retained that distinctive Cadbury taste, despite the fact that Hershey is now their manufacturer within the USA. The light brown caramel within is fairly fluid and though many may prefer a more concentrated dose of the sweet filling, this form mixes exceptionally well with the milk chocolate exterior.

A warning about its excellent ability to leave its own legacy on your clothing is appropriate here. If you’re completely lacking in caution when preparing to bite down into a chocolate bar, you’ll quickly learn of the proper procedure to avoid chocolate getting in anywhere but your mouth when dealing with this particular bar and its thin chocolate and liquid caramel.

In addition, those with allergies should be aware of the warning on the wrapper, which states that this bar was manufactured on the same equipment which processes tree nuts.
