What caught my eye about Riceworks’ Salsa Fresca flavored brown rice crisps was not, in fact, the huge time span they’d so kindly given me in regards to the “best before” date, but the very idea of Salsa Fresca chips. Chips that one has no instinctual desire, even need, to dunk? Sounds good to me!
These crisps really do meet up to standards. To begin with, their triangular physical manifestations are delightfully large, enough to give you trouble downing one with a single crunch. Each chip is coated with the delicious Fresca Salsa flavor Riceworks is evidently so accomplished at making and distributing. When I say “each chip,” I mean it. Every individual crisp will perform its given destiny in adding to the budding Salsa flavor filling your mouth after only a couple of these brown rice crisps.
Brown rice, in particular, is a nice part of these, given that your typical potato chips could sit atop a mountain of fat and other unsavory things and mock (or perhaps sit and be jealous) brown rice for the lack of such things. Not that Riceworks seems to have needed those ingredients-their rice crisps are completely fine without them-in truth, it’s probably better without ‘em. I’ll leave you off with the warning given on the back of the bag, simply because it’s so true: These crisps are addictive!
